Abstracts were submitted for the AWMA 2012 Conference not only from around the nation, but from our Asia – Pacific neighbours and beyond including the UK and USA. The Scientific Program Committee acknowledges the time and effort taken to contribute to AWMA 2012 in this way, as the oral presentations within the concurrent sessions and the posters presented in the poster hall both contribute greatly to the relevance, value and success of this event. By sharing both scientific and clinical research findings, examining case studies / series (identifying the unusual, what went well or lessons learned), along with an opportunity to share innovations, information and educational reports together, we have the opportunity to share and learn together whether novice or expert.
Plenary sessions will examine a variety of topics including defining and measuring outcomes in wound management, lower limb oedema and lymphoedema challenges and initiatives, development of new tools and products through research, counting the cost of acute and chronic wound infection, biofilm based wound care, and using innovation to enable others, to name a few. These concurrent sessions provide a wonderful opportunity to ‘tap’ into the work and experiences of both local and international presenters, to network, and to reflect on current and future practice.
The AWMA 2012 Poster Display will provide conference delegates an opportunity to meet with poster authors, with poster presentations held during Tuesday and Wednesday’s lunch breaks.
